This is somewhat old (at least by COVID-19 standards ("6 months" might as well be "6 years")), but interesting take on the economic ramifications of the response to the COVID-19 pandemic. I'm liking Mark Blyth's take on things, and it's interesting to compare how he's thinking it could play out vs. where we are now.

I really appreciate you sharing this interview. I found myself enthralled with his opinions on economics and then ran smack into the fact that he endorsed Brexit. I appreciate it wasn't for the reasons people normally do, but as someone who has lost out pretty substantially due to Brexit, I found it hard to rectify my positive feelings toward his economic stances with my negative feelings on his geopolitical stance. I did however appreciate his stance on the absurdity of tying the interest rates of Italy and Germany.

If you are interested in this kind of stuff, you should check out Stephanie Kelton. I would be incredibly interested to hear her and Mark discuss their conflicting opinions on what is possible with the global economy.

Yea, after looking through this particular broadcast's history, it seems a lot of it is geared towards reactionary takes against liberal reactionary takes on right-wing reactionary takes on ...well, whatever butterfly has currently captured their attention (watch out for that cliff!).

I found posted interview after listening to this Open Source interview between Mark Blyth and Christopher Lydon and wanting to here more from Mark Blyth. The title of the interview I posted particularly grabbed my attention, as it's exactly how I described the right-wing boogeyman of socialism to my sister when she expressed interest in learning about more political topics.

I'd recommend checking out that Open Source interview. They tread a lot of the same territory, but it's interesting to hear the takes with some hindsight. Hell, I might just listen to it again!
