I'll put together a better comment for some of the dishes I like when I get around to making them again. As for the moment, I've been trying to find new snacks that work with the keto/low carb/diabetic friendly diet. May not be relevant to everyone, but these tend to be reasonably low in calories as well. I should note: THESE ARE NOT HEALTHY. These are guilty pleasures that one can indulge in without completely forsaking their diet or doctors orders. Here are a few keto snacks that I continuously go back for:

    Keto Krisp: Almond Butter

    Review:

I've tried a number from the Keto Krisp line (available at a gas station near my work and also Walmart) and found the Almond Butter flavor the best. It is filling, delicious, and the almond butter doesn't leave you parched afterward. This often is a breakfast replacement when I wake up a bit late.

Atkins (Big) Keto Peanut Butter Cups

    Review:

These are roughly the same size, taste, and flavor of those big Reese's cups you see sold individually. The taste is almost spot on, but I think the chocolate is a little bit less of the overall volume, is a bit darker, and the cup is generally more peanut-butter forward (in a good way.) A little more substantial in a bite than the original Reese's. A bit less filling than the previous, but lower calorie, better macros (less protein), and a bit tastier.

Wonderworks Peanut Butter Keto* Friendly Cereal

    Review:

These are available at Walmart. I've tried ALL of the Wonderworks Keto cereals. Some are misses for me (chocolate, cinnamon), but some are hits; namely their "frosty" and "peanut butter." My favorite cereal in the whole world is Reese's Puffs, which I can no longer eat. Maybe it is some combination of time, drifting taste buds, or nostalgia, but this cereal is a dead-on carbon-copy of my memory of Reese's Puffs. I've only had a single box (about a month or two ago) because it is perpetually sold out. I go more than once a week to see if they are restocked. They have loads and loads of the other three flavors, but this one is always sold out. WARNING: quite high in protein, you'll need to plan your meals around this bowl if you intend to make this your breakfast.

Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk

    Review:

These are also available at Walmart. It tastes to me just like low fat/skim milk. Or, more the memory of that. After switching to almond milk, regular milk tastes...funky, in a bad way. I'm not sure how to describe it. This stuff tastes legit. It is filling, works wonderfully with cereal, and is great before bed. Cost-wise, you can find this in the big jugs (96oz) for $4 in my market. By comparison, milk goes for about $3 for 128oz jug. A bit pricier, but butter imho. It's not...like exceptional, but the 5/5 rating is based on this being as good of a milk as one could ask for.

    Per cup:

    Nutrient Per Cup
    Calories 30
    Net Carbs <1g
    Total Fat 2.5g
    Protein 1g

The keto diet is not a miracle diet. There's no good evidence you'll beat calories-in/calories-out. It also comes with a host of potentially dangerous side-effects. There's basically no evidence that it does any of the things so-called "keto gurus" claim it does. A specific, harsh diet that limits both protein and carbs has shown to help with epilepsy, but this isn't the "keto diet" that people online talk about. There's no evidence this "increases your cognition", "boosts your immune system", or "prevents cancer."

You should actually talk to your primary doctor if you are concerned about your weight or overall health. I decided to start keto because type-2 diabetes runs in the family, and my A1C levels put me in pre-diabetes. Not only did this fix my levels (and ensured my blood sugar essentially never spikes), but it consequently caused me to drop a ton of weight, on a scale I just wasn't expecting (somewhere around 20lbs in the first 2-3 months.) This is great for me as my weight was my primary risk factor for developing diabetes.
