    It seems to me that the most blaringly obvious way to avoid all the problems is to simply finish developing the game before announcing a release date instead of gambling on all of the future...

    It seems to me that the most blaringly obvious way to avoid all the problems is to simply finish developing the game before announcing a release date instead of gambling on all of the future difficulties which you do not even have a way of quantifying.

    While cutting the salary of the CEO isn't "the answer", it does seem like avoiding this obvious solution in spite of years of making the same mistakes is more than a reason to do that as a punishment.

    As an aside, do video games still get advertised on TV? it's been ages since I've watched TV, largely because of advertisements.
