        I think they're related...the extra vaccination helps to be sure. But the USA isn't taking the COVID mitigation measures nearly as seriously...hence why we're having quite a shit time of dealing...

            The reason I mention it, is because the combo is what's making it super mild. Virtually every mitigation measure for COVID will also mitigate the flu. It'll be milder thanks to vaccination, I agree. But it won't be Australia levels of mild.

            And it's still going to be a mess, even if only because there will be added strain on an already-stressed healthcare system.
