Fitness Weekly Discussion
What have you been doing lately for your own fitness? Try out any new programs or exercises? Have any questions for others about your training? Want to vent about poor behavior in the gym? Started a new diet or have a new recipe you want to share? Anything else health and wellness related?
I sold my lifting equipment after two years of on-again-off-again use. Feels good to have the space back for yoga and other floor exercises. I’ve also been biking as much as possible (indoor and outdoor), because I want to do some longer trips later this year.
I started portion control Monday, not focusing on any particular diet, only to eat when I'm actually hungry and not bored. I was eating way too much during the holiday season and it feels good not to be super bloated. I'm starting to get through the "hunger" headaches and general off feeling, and that's promising. Plus, I'm down 5 lbs! I know those are the easy ones (I started the year at 240 lbs, I'm aiming for 190 eventually), but it's an encouraging start.
I am going to get through this eating change before I get back on the running - in 2021, I finally got back up to 5k. It was a 45 minute PR, but it's faster than the last 5 years, which were... infinite? Either way, when I get back normalish with my adjusted eating, I'm going to look into some yoga.
Weight update
Struggled around the upper 240s throughout December but after a week off of calorie counting (during my Christmas break) and being a lot more lax the following week, I weighed in this morning at 243.2 lbs (~110.3 kg), bringing my overall total loss since May to 41.4 lbs (~18.8 kg)
Diet
Due to the cold killing my car's battery, I've been stranded at home so I've been eating a lot of delivery. Just before Christmas Day, I had picked up a maple ham from the grocery story and that served to make quite a few sandwiches. Definitely will need to pick up some more.
Fitness
Just focusing on trying different things to rehab my knee while I cannot got to the gym due to my car. Hopefully I'll be back at the gym in a couple of weeks or sooner. No more body aching, though, for the most part. My body is experiencing its normative amount of ouch.
