Anybody "hobonichi" or bullet journal?
I own a hobonichi, which is really just a hipster day-planner. The key feature for me is the river paper, which allows water colouring.
I try to water colour everyday. Started that way at the beginning of the year, and after a few months, now pretty much use it as a day-planner. Of course, I would love to get back to it, and will make an effort to at least catch up over the weekends.
Would love to hear how you journal and any habits that work for you.
I bullet journal in a Leuchtturm. Occasionally I post my layouts on instagram. I've been keeping a two week on a two page spread since January and I'm still loving it. It's the perfect amount of space to accomplish everything I need to and the most satisfying part for me is filling in the boxes when I've completed something - especially from my to-do list or habit tracker.
Your journal is so neat! I use boxes for savings and such, and you're right - it's so satisfying filling them in :P
My current hobonichi is one page per day, but I'm debating one that has weekly spreads for next year. I feel it'll be nice seeing more than a page at a time.
PS: You read Oryx and Crake? Did you like it?
I do use my Google Calendar similarly, expect I completely delete a task when i'm done. It is nice to have my calendar cleared.
I tried to note three things everyday. Sometimes i get back to filling them out with little drawings/painting, and sometimes I cheat with stickers and washi tape :P
In college I was using the Moleskine planner, with the week on one page and a blank page for notes on the opposite side. I have a terrible memory, so paper is a must if I wish to retain it for future reference. Since college, I grew tired of the cheap Moleskine paper always ghosting so I grabbed a Hobonichi Techo. I love the paper, and the binding, but have grown to hate the small size. I recently ordered a Seven Seas from Nanami and think I have finally found what I have been looking for!
I use to use a Moleskine too. Started with a super tiny 3 by whoever one, which was great for lists, but nothing else.
I am carrying the standard hobonichi which I haven't decided if the size is right yet. My sister got the cousin, which is bigger and that seems to work well, so I might try it next year.
Never heard of Seven Seas from Nanami, need to check it out. I just love finding new stationary. Thanks for the suggestion.
Don't hate me! This is the notebook I just grabbed, the Seven Seas Writer. It is A5, which is the same size as the Cousin if I am not mistaken. I ordered a cover from Amazon which has yet to arrive, but I do have high hopes! If I could make a living at it I would open a stationary store since I do have a bit of a problem!
I do, but I can't hate you lol. I'm excited to check this out. When you receive yours, you should totally post about it. I'm sure I'm not the only one curious.
I've had the notebook for a couple days actually, just waiting on the cover to arrive before I start using it. My only complaint is the lack of a bookmark, but the cover solves that problem for me. Aside from that, this is the notebook slid out of the cover it ships with. It will come in handy when the time comes to add it to the shelves with my other "archived" notebooks. And this is one of the reasons why I wanted to give this notebook a shot, because it will lay flat without forcing it. In the photo I just opened it up randomly and let it lay however it fell, I am very happy with the binding. I almost hate to write in it!
Thanks for the response. I'll probably give it a shot as my next notebook!
I use both. I have a hobonichi as my daily planner/scrapbook, but I rely on my Google calendar for actually reminding me of my appointments. The physical is more just for me to clip through and go "oh yeah, I have two dinners with friends planned in Aug".
I'm also a post-it note addict. I stick them everywhere, though lately more in my planner, and just toss them out when I've completed a task/app.
