A good friend runs the very VERY nerdy store SF-bokhandeln in Gothenburg and Covid is kicking their ass like everyone elses. The store is also one of those "nerd handling stores for nerds" sort of things, where she (Jenny) is focused on "What would I like?" more than "What do nerds wanna pay money for?" and tbh right now she is feeling low AF since Corona etc means they have to cut staff (the staff gets paid by the state) and she works 24/7 to avoid this.
Every year the organize an event called the Nerd Parade with cosplayers etc in connection to the local Comicon etc. Its a nerd-pride of sorts and the event spill in to the local yearly pride event at times too.
The reason I am sharing this is because I think it would be so awesome if other people around the globe join in to the this digital event.

Even if current situation makes public parades impossible, we still want to celebrate International Nerd Day with a parade this year.
Monday the 25th of May we invite you to a digital nerdparade on our facebook site. During the afternoon and evening we will start sharing fun photos and videos, music and messages from us and our friends - and of course a very nerdy parade
That is why we are looking for YOU who want to be part of the nerd parade! Send a photo where you have your best parade outfit: cosplay, LARP outfit, steampunk or a nice geek-tshirt and a towel [towels are part of this international nerd day due to Hitchhikers Guide /ohyran]. We will arrange a parade-collage which we will release during the evening and if you participate you will of course automatically participate in the best-outfit-competition. We want to encourage creativity, fun and nerdiness!
