The comedian Colin Quin did a one-man show on Broadway that was later released on video, that also covers world history in a very similar, broad-stroke, exaggerated and incredibly humorous way that I highly recommend people check out called Long Story Short. It was on Netflix at one point, but sadly I don't think it is anymore.
His next one on American history, Unconstitutional, is on Amazon Prime Video though. It's not quite as good, but is still very funny and also worth watching, IMO.
In graphic novel format, I really liked ALPHA... Directions by Jens Harder. BETA... civilisations is available to continue on the civilisation part of history.

And his latest one, The New York Story was also pretty decent as well.
Another good humorous broad view of history is The Cartoon History of the Universe by Larry Gonick.
