So seeing all the factories producing crazy amounts of smog all over the heart of the city in this video was quite shocking to me... especially the rather large factories directly across the river from, and even on all the islands beside, Parliament Hill! :P
Even though this is an incredibly niche subject, IMO it's still interesting to see a snippet of Canadian life in the late 40s, and these old style documentaries are also so bizarrely charming that...

I live in Ottawa as well and I had to chuckle at the notion of freediving into Hog’s Back falls. Pretty sure there’s a big fine for doing that now.
