This article attempts to clarify what Wittgenstein means by a "private language", its usefulness and possibility. This hypothetical language would only refer to inner contents (sensations) that are particular to each individual. It cannot be used to engage with others. In that sense, how can it ever be truthful or useful? The way Wittgenstein poses the argument is not very consistent, and it doesn't seem possible to fully ascertain its goals. It is, nevertheless, an insightful commentary on the limits of language and subjectivity.
