Yea, it really is. Reminds me of some pictures I took on the 4th of July a couple of years ago. Sounds like an obvious art project that should be done if it hasn't been, already.... 4th of July...

Or pictures of any other country's firework-fueled patriotic days paired with explosions caused by their military intervention.
mute your speakers and check this fireworks display going off all at once. You could do a whole series that combines the traditional circus parade with heavy artillery, etc too.
This link should work for saving a 1920x1080 version of it: http://obrazky.4ever.sk/data/download/ine/vybuch-170507.jpg?no-logo (found on a Slovak site through Google Image search)
ha. you got as far as I did! I guess the guy isn't eager to have his name out there. By the way, did you notice how unbelievably tame that guestbook is?!

Woof. Heavy stuff. I'm conflicted on viewing images like this. In our relatively cushy worlds I think it could be necessary to look at horrors... especially if you hold opinions on the regions...

In our relatively cushy worlds I think it could be necessary to look at horrors... especially if you hold opinions on the regions from which they originate. It's easy enough to say to yourself "yea, I know bad shit happens in the world. I don't need to see it." but it's another to see it..view it..and really know what's happening. An example, for me, is viewing an ISIS propaganda video which depicts armed children going through a training house, eventually finding prisoners of war and executing them. Initially, I wasn't able to comprehend that it was a real video. It looked too well produced. But, I soon came to the realization. I knew child soldiers were a thing... but to see it in action is quite a different thing. I'm fortunate and privileged enough to say that viewing that video merely ruined my day.
This is such a horrific, yet beautiful shot -- totally safe, no gore.. just an explosion in the sky.

As always, Deimos has the most premium links! If that doesn't work, here's a backup
You could probably reach out to the guy for a better copy.

There's a book regarding this subject called Regarding the Pain of Others by Susan Sontag.
