Why did people wear powdered wigs?

Wigs date at least as far back as ancient Egypt, where well-regarded hairdressers crafted them into intricate styles. Terminal Montage has been doing video game/speed run parodies for years, but they've recently put out a pilot for their own IP and and it really is unique and quite charming. They take a lot of stereotypes from games and meld them in with the plot mechanics. While it might turn some people off, I really like what they did with the chat boxes for dialogue.

I was just happy to see them post a project of their own creation and nail it. :)
