When hitting a bump in my mood or workflow, I just wanna spring back up and get back to work instead of taking several days to reset.
Coupling that with the last couple years of successfully setting realistic-goals, this is my current outlook:
- Fully finish writing the few songs rattling around in my head.
- Follow a Godot tutorial and make a super basic game for myself.
- Get back into video projects, with the main focus being longer formats and not pushing to release something constantly.

This would still be unbalanced for some, but it would give a much better point of comparison with people more likely to play as much as you. I can go look at other friends stats one by one, but having an automatic aggregate of your friends would be neat. Especially with a direct graph comparison between 'all' and 'friends', it would almost feel like a team effort, lol.

Comment on A post on X claiming that Denmark has introduced an IQ threshold of at least 85 for sperm donors has sparked confusion, debate and memes, but ultimately is misleading in ~health

If you check under the 'Modern tests' drop down, it does state the same: The ordinal scale has 100 as the mean, and every 15 points is a standard deviation (as pointed out by fxgn). It also states that IQ points are not percentage points, so someone with an IQ of 50 is not considered half as smart as someone with 100.

Anywho, that's a solid album, and last year I happened upon his channel right as he released Christmas Bells are Ringing! I seem to recall this one was nice, too. Not too bland, not too overdone. Enjoy!

Some people could get vague shapes/ideas to form, some had none, and I myself covered the tail end of it with full on detail (see my other comment on this thread for more on that). I also liked that some of those that have trouble picturing things had no problem hearing an entire ensemble, specifically those that had musical training. Others would only be able to imagine things like that when they dream, but were unable to when they woke (I asked them about their dreams since I had read a convo like this on reddit a while back, and the dream-difference I always found interesting).
I also read from someone with aphantasia that they were able to do some exercises to work up a bit of that imaginary sight muscle. They would close their eyes and focus on the ambient static/floating fog that occurs with the absence of light. As those shapes danced around, they would do the equivalent of the cloud-rorschach test and pick out some shapes and identify what they looked like. They would then 'hold onto that shape' in their mind, so even as the static continued to dance around, they would try to picture the mouse/kite/tree/etc. shape where and how they saw it in their mind. They wrote that after a while they were able to (with some difficulty) conjure up an image from nothing, but pointed out it was harder to do without a reference.

I will always be making an imitation of the thing i can already see. This also goes for any other artistic ventures like music or movies. If I make something, it is always a worse version than the 'original'.
While I'm clearly thankful for the ability to hyperactively picture things like I do, it is also incredibly maddening. Art for me is plike describing a cool concert you went to... there is no way to give justice to the awesome thing you've experience with your own abilities unless you fully recreated the concert yourself. But then it's just a recreation! Ugh.

Probably a mix of internal shenanigans, but I couldn't post squat at one point during the day while co-workers were having no issue, and then later I could post while they couldn't. Thankfully it didn't hitch up our company too much, and we technically can pop off cloudflare if we need to (and might, depending on how long this lasts).

Unfortunately, I know what OP is referring to and yeah, it's been getting a lot worse recently. I don't think the amount of non-punctuated posts have grown across the internet yet, but it does seem like more and more of them are getting upvoted to the front page/algorithmic feed of various sites. This in turn seems to be influencing more people to start posting in the same fashion.
It's very frustrating... I try not to be an old curmudgeon about it, and I generally count myself as an anti-decorum fighter against the fastidious. But it really sucks when it's the inciting title to a thread of discussion around something serious, because it then seems to attract more half-baked comments instead of participants that want to fully flesh out the topic. To be clear, Tildes doesn't seem to suffer from this yet. Other platforms like reddit and tech forums recently are getting slapped by run-on sentence gremlins unable to properly convey their thoughts without giving the reader a headache.

Decades-to-centuries old stuff just sitting around, and we finally started going through it. I collected a bunch of my childhood toys and some art pieces and wanted to make a video about it for Glomble. I've been organizing different item groups together and am working on a rough outline so I can record myself going through a bunch of my old items and talk about them. I... being the apparent masochist that I am, decided to switch to linux halfway through this process, which has put an absolute snag in the process, but I'm excited to talk about the stuff I found eventually!
For those who are curious: Here's the shenanigans that have kneecapped my momentum from installing linux during the process.
I said the other day *here on tildes* that I was switching to Arch Linux to avoid Window 11 and I am a man of my word! :D Unfortunately, that means I had to install a whole other operating system before I could reinstall Davinci Resolve Studio, which isn't technically made for Arch. D: I ran into a couple snags that are entertaining in the "of course these would happen *now*" moments.
First, I was just trying to use 'archinstall' since I had limited pockets of time to try and install things. I managed to make my usb with the ISO the day before a new bug was fixed. It took a lot of re-attempts and magically finding the right combination of error messages/key words into google to find the archinstall github thread discussing the problem. (I eventually figured out sudo pacman -S archinstall from the USB/ISO, followed by running archinstall, fixed the problem)
Then, during the several days I was wondering why my nvidia-drivers didn't exist and finally got an install to work, apparently the server hosting a package I needed to install davinci-resolve-studio disappeared, so I couldn't install the one thing I was worried about switching to linux for. After following a couple threads that did not readily fix the problem, I just git cloned the package link instead of trying to pull from the AUR via things like paru, and I finally got the package.
As I write this line of text, I finally just got davinci installed. Literally no idea if it even runs as I'm about to find out when I run it. But at this point I feel like Hal from Malcolm in the Middle when Lois comes out to the garage asking if he was going to change the lightbulb, and Hal screams from under the car "WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE I'M DOING?!". I will edit a video someday... any day now. :')

I've been playing Spirit City: Lofi Sessions recently. It is not something I would normally play, but it's been a great tool to throw on the monitor and force myself to go do chores or what have you. Very simple but effective, especially with the spirit animal hunting mechanic which creates a great introductory pull to explore the different functions and cosmetics of the game early on. It's hard to find a productivity game that gives you enough of a distraction to be a game while also stepping out of the way for productivity to happen. I feel like this does that so well in a very ambient way.
