Disney sold streaming/broadcast rights for Star Wars movies to Turner in 2016 and may not be able to offer them on its own service until 2024

    I'm not certain if I'm understanding the implications here (and may have written an inaccurate title), but this seems like a huge issue. It seems insane that they would have entered an eight year...

    I'm not certain if I'm understanding the implications here (and may have written an inaccurate title), but this seems like a huge issue. It seems insane that they would have entered an eight year agreement for rights related to streaming with technology changing so quickly.

    I'm sure Disney will end up sorting it out, but it'll probably cost them.

      It might end up being not as big an issue as it could have been. Disney seems to be doing their best to kill the golden goose (the last couple SW movies have not been very well received).

      Even without the cinematic SW movies, Disney still has a massive catalogue of IPs (Marvel, Toy Story, Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean, etc) and their (sometimes) excellent animated series including the Clone Wars, Gravity Falls, Tron Uprising, Ducktales, and more.
