    What a great explainer on the internal mechanisms. My first thought is how much more of a systems thinker you would have to be to develop that then current devices. The fact that your literally pushing the speed mechanism off of the plate to turn it off was incredible. There is a lot of ingenuity in that little box.

    In a broader sense, Sam's channel is a treasure trove of weird music-making devices, both homemade and historical. He really knows his stuff, I hope one day to be able to visit the museum he's slowly building out of all the strange stuff he's accumulated over the years.
