One of the other auditions that I love is Courtney Hadwin. The way she comes out shy and then straights explodes into a performance and does her own thing is amazing!

I do this as well! Got addicted when Paul Potts and then later Susan Boyle went viral. I hate myself every thing I get suckered into clicking another link though, because I keep coming across songs I can't buy commercial versions of and likely never will be able to! Kristen Cruz is a great example https://youtu.be/vusp-xMzOfk I am RUINED for any other version of that song, which I'd never heard before hearing her sing it.

I'm not sure where to start here. But I'll try by saying I get my AGT/BGT content the same way. I don't have to suffer through the awful people. Susan Boyle? Total shocker. Caly Bevier?...

Courtney is something else. She is the epitome of when you're doing what you love, nothing else matters. It was like a switch flipped and Janis overtook her body to turn a 13-year-old into a rock legend. It is fucking beautiful.

Edit: It also looks like Courtney is doing pretty well these days.

One moment I really appreciate it when Susan Boyle later in life sings with Ellen Page as equals (not on AGT). The story arc from being laughed at to realizing her dream is amazing.

Nothing but the truth spoken there. Personally, I feel drummers and bassists are the most passionate people in any band. And most bands couldn't survive without either. Coheed lost both for a time and produced their worst albums ever. Then they got Zach Cooper and things were looking up. AND THEN (NO MORE AND THEN), Josh Eppard came back and breathed a new life into Coheed. Claudio may write the story, but Josh brings it to life.

Holy shit. I've never seen that and it was wonderful! He had me at "My dad was a diagram", but his interactions with Alesha and Amanda were perfect.

If you haven't already, watch his acts in order. They kind of build on each other because of Simon's reactions to his acts. I admire his ability to work a room in the way that he did, and to make something that's kinda "stupid" into something that made me (and apparently a lot of other people) really happy. Dude ultimately won by a pretty large margin.

Iam Tongi’s audition on American idol was incredibly emotional. I lost my dad at a young age so it was heavy. There are few human connections as strong as shared loss. His mom says Iam and his dad made recordings when they found out his dad was sick and that Iam would go to sleep to them. I thought that was beautiful. For me, seeing the human experience shine through in an artist is everything.

Umm... Uh... Wow. I've never seen this before. And now I sit here at 7:30am crying my eyes out. This Fall will be 11 years since my father unlifed himself, and I know me and my sister will be eating pepperbellies in his honor (if you've never had one, try it. Simple and delicious.) For his birthday next we are going to see the Gin Blossoms (one of his favorite bands). I hope this is a year where I'm happy an not sad. It is always a toss up.

Well i hope it was a therapeutic cry. I’m sorry to hear that about your father. Thats sounds really tough. It’s awesome you and your sister find ways to memorialize him. It’s all about how we carry the memories of those we have loved and lost. It’s been 21 years since my dad had a heart attack while out mountain biking with friends. It’s been a wild ride and what I have yearned for most over years is the guidance he could have offered. I chose a similar career to his and there’s been so many times I thought “I wish I could talk to my dad about this”. My son was born last month on the 21st anniversary of his death so I’m grateful to have a happy memory coincide with the hard anniversaries that came before. Keep finding ways to remember fondly. Life can be lived in celebration of the people that got us here. Take the baton and run. Thank you, dear person on the other side of the Internet, for sharing with me.

Oh man. Your little guy was the perfect gift when you needed him. I'd bet everything I own that little man's smile can light up your day better than a spotlight. With my dad it was exactly one week after my niece was born. From highest highs to lowest lows. For several years, his birthday and death date would knock me down low. As time has gone on I find it easier to celebrate him rather than mourn. Don't get me wrong, I still pick up my phone to text him a new song I found.
