God wasted a really good asshole when he put teeth in your mouth.
Your family tree must be a cactus because everybody on it is a prick.
Trying to explain shit to you is like trying to staple Jell-O to a steel wall.
Your brain is just there to hold your ears apart
You're like a slinky. Not really useful for anything, but fun to push down a flight of stairs.
Your asshole must be jealous of your mouth because of all the shit that comes out of it

And you’re right, it’s not just about them turning in low effort assignments, it's about missing out on the actual learning process.
But zooming out for a second, what we’re seeing here is part of a much bigger shift in how we learn, work, and think. Every major technological leap whether it was the printing press, calculators, the internet, or now Ai, has changed how we interact with knowledge. For centuries, education has been about memorization and analytical thinking because humans had to be the processors of information. But now, when an AI can generate answers in seconds, we have to ask: what does learning even look like in this new reality?
That doesn’t mean students should just blindly accept whatever AI spits out, far from it. If anything, it means we need more critical thinking, not less. The real skill of the future isn’t just knowing things, it’s knowing how to question, how to verify, and how to apply information in meaningful ways. Unfortunately, most students haven’t been taught how to engage with AI properly, which is why so many assume that “ChatGPT said it, so it must be right.”
So what do we do about it right now? That's a hard question to answer but some are trying to answer it. As someone who has worked in universities for over 20 years, I feel it. Here are some ideas that we have been talking about about in our Center for Teaching and Learning as well as Academic Technology teams in IT.
Instead of banning it or ignoring it, professors could require students to explain why an Ai generated response is wrong or incomplete. That way, students engage with the material instead of just copy and pasting. If students understood when Ai is useful and when it fails, they’d be much less likely to trust it blindly. A few well-placed lessons showing ChatGPT confidently making things up would go a long way.
If an AI can do the entire task instantly, maybe the assignment needs to evolve. Maybe it’s less about “fill in the core competence tree” and more about “explain why this tree is structured this way and what it tells us about the company.”
You’re right that exams force students to actually learn since they can’t rely on AI there but I think there’s an opportunity to use AI in a way that enhances learning instead of replacing it. Right now, we’re in the messy middle of figuring out that balance.
I really appreciate you bringing this up because these are exactly the kinds of conversations we need to be having. Thanks for sharing your experience and using critical thinking.

In Edge of Tomorrow I appreciate the character development through the battle.
One thing that strikes me is how long those loops last. Theories on Groundhog day is that it's hundreds of years which is scary to think about being stuck in that.
I'll have to check out Palm Springs, I hadn't heard of it.

I've met people who I am physically attracted that quickly become unattractive when they open their mouth. The opposite is true, when I get to know someone their energy can grow my attraction and connection.
I've experienced what you said about people getting mad. Sometimes I feel bad because deep down they just want to know they are wanted by someone and the fact that the very thing they fear may reject them is a punch to the gut.

Recently, however, I've embraced my bisexuality, a realization that has profoundly impacted how I see myself and the world.
Coming out as bisexual after identifying as straight for over 35 years isn't easy. People often question my authenticity, assuming it's a phase, that I'm seeking attention, or that's all about sex. These misconceptions can be frustrating and hurtful. Bisexuality is not a trend or an experiment—it's a real and valid part of who I am.
It's essential to address these misunderstandings and challenge the stigma. Being attracted to more than one gender doesn't make my feelings any less genuine. It's a part of my identity that deserves respect and acceptance, just like anyone else's. I am likely pansexual, but bisexual was something I have identified most of my life and so stuck with the older terminology.

The multiple colors is a fairly simple technique, but can be programmed. I use Simplify3D and I am able to determine the layer that I want to switch filament. You can program the 3D printer to stop, then swap filament, and restart. I had a few issues with the reheating at times so I went a simpler route...
My "ghetto" way of doing it is I approximate the time it takes to get to a particular layer (my printer lets me.know what layer is printing). When I get to that layer I slow the printer down manually to about 50% speed. Then I quickly yank out the filament and feed in the new filament fast. I slowly ramp back up to 100% and then I have a multi-color print! I sometimes do a few color swaps for a print. Takes a bit of trial and error, but it has worked for me well. I print on a modified CR-10s.

I had purchased a 3d printer and knew nothing about how to use it or make 3d objects. I measured my lenses, taped my old pair together so I could see, and got to work designing 3d printed glasses. My first pair lasted 1 hour and now to this day I have had a pair that lasted 2 years.
I have ended up printing hundreds of pairs since I first started and now broken frames get swapped out in minutes. Plus I got rid of the hinge altogether by refining my design.
When I first showed people, they freaked out saying I was going to screw up my eyes because it's important to line up pupils with the lenses. I did end up taking a 3d printed frames to the optometrist and had lenses made for my creation.
My early pairs were cobbled together in Blender and hilariously, Tinkercad. I have since learned Fusion 360 and recreated my frames from scratch. Here are a few links from earlier days to my first pairs:

We are in our 40's (1980's guys), and both have families (collectively six boys ranging from 14 to 24). Our kids roll their eyes at us trying to be "cool" making a game, lol. We are doing this as a creative side gig for fun as a hobby. I work in IT leadership, and my buddy is a creative designer for a leadership development company in our day jobs. Our main goal is to tell our story, and we are doing most of this while streaming on Twitch (to an extremely small following).
The gist of the story is based on a character named Robi. Robi is a young man who inherited his grandfather's business called Skull Bob's Tavern. Robi's late grandfather, Robert Dekker, was a famed explorer who climbed a mountain and nearly froze in a storm in his younger life. Seeking shelter in a cave, he came upon a mysterious cyclops/alien skull (here is our YouTube short that tells that story: https://youtu.be/B3brJkK2TzU?si=aTaRJSccRjdGhMM1). The skull Robert (aka- Bob) found saved his life and became the centerpiece in the museum at his Tavern.
Our Game Boy game story begins with Robi mourning the loss of his late grandfather and inheriting the tavern. Robi's a bit aloof and unsure how to run a business. Wanting to figure out more about his late grandfather and his adventures, the story continues as a platformer adventure RPG, where Robi uncovers clues about the past and the significance of the skull his grandfather found. The skull has some interesting characteristics and powers revealed later in the game. There will be some puzzles, storytelling, and combat in areas of the game. The story arc is Robi feeling distant from his grandfather but slowly reveals that Robert was there for Robi, protecting him his whole life from something...https://doubledropdown.com/abdoanmes/2024/202401-building-a-game-boy-game/

This year my friend and I have been working hard on development of a Game Boy game and we've found an amazing community in the GB Studio Discord that has been really fun and rewarding to be part of.
One of my favorite Game Boy games is Robocop 2. Probably not the best but as a kid it was one of the first I could beat and it made me proud I could make it through the game. Lol
Ps- All time favorite is still Tetris
That is A LOT of bitters.
