I was reading an old copy of the Whole Earth Review - it's an eclectic mix of I guess the intersection between counter-culture, hippiedom, and tech - and they had this article that they reprinted from NYT from 1987. I thought it was interesting.
I know people here are into less-heard music, and are very familiar with the networks and fora where those tracks are shared now, and I thought you'd like to see how people were doing it before easy access to the Internet, before the World Wide Web.
I'm also curious about where all that music went - a lot of it is not in any archives that I can find.
