You're snitching on yourself, and now your front door, they come through
Without a tap on your phone
The only thing they had to do was listen to the raps in your songs

Curious if the defense claims fiction and he loses cred. Feel like in other cases involving lyrical content the sentiment was, “jk, jk”.

Rap snitches, tellin' all they business. Sitting in court and be they own star witness.

But at the end of the day, plenty of bands have lyrics that amount to "I do crimes" and some of the lyrics being used as evidence (as seen in Anthony Fantano's video) amount to "I have a gang and we do crime" as opposed to a lyric like "and on the 31st of January, I shot a man with a 9mm and the prosecutor hasn't even recovered the firearm from my safehouse!"

I mean, where would the world be right now if Jay-Z was immediately arrested after releasing 99 Problems? I think I personally wouldn't hold it against him to say "that's merely art based on other experiences and media I've seen." After all, Rick Ross was essentially that, wasn't he?

Yes agree and great point with Rick Ross. Also appreciate the MF DOOM quote. That whole song is a perfect fit.
