Yes, the song is mildly annoying, but its earnest cheeriness and catchiness will also lodge their way into your brain and stay there for over a decade like they did with mine.

There’s also an alternate version that features an unedited single shot of the girl dancing through the entire song. I’m curious how much of it was choreographed versus her sort of improvising moves on the fly.

Polysics slaps so hard on all albums. One part Devo, one part Meshuggah, one part Pixies. My absolute favorite album deep dive this year.

Where do you recommend I start with them across their many (MANY!) albums? Despite knowing and loving this song for a long time now, I've never actually listened to any of their other stuff.

I can't recommend any albums or places to start since the only songs I know are the ones Pandora randomly shows me, but my favorite is this one: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qexi76q63NU

I'm pretty new to them still but it seems that like any band with a history as long as theirs, there are a few eras and evolutions of their sound. I'd get started with the album Eno, check out...

I'd get started with the album Eno, check out Action.

It's been such a sound adventure that I'd say just pick an album and start there.
