Slightly off-topic from the song drop, but I wonder if any fellow tildoes are Mastodon fans and have thoughts about the recent turmoil surrounding the band. They recently released a...mini documentary? about some of what went on, and it's honestly heartbreaking. From what I've heard from people who have seem them live in the last few years, and from what the band says, it seems clear that Brent was in a bad place both in terms of addiction and in terms of being checked out from the music, and it's tragic that things ended the way they did.
On a personal note - my oldest has gotten really into Mastodon in the last year and I'm really stoked to have gotten tickets to their current tour in a couple of months. The date is a little after the new album drop so I'm really excited to be able to share the experience of listening to new music from a band that we both really enjoy, and then going to see them perform that music live. And from what I've been hearing, the quality of their live show seems to be a lot more solid on this current tour.
