Ghost has always been "Blue Öyster Cult meets Church of Satan", and Prequelle fits right in. If Meliora was Ghost's Cultosaurus Erectus or Fire of Unknown Origin, then I think it's fair to say that Prequelle is their Agents of Fortune, if not their Spectres. Then again, it might be more accurate to compare Meliora with Metallica's Master of Puppets, and Prequelle with ...And Justice For All.
There are some really solid tracks on this album. "Dance Macabre" is pure classic BÖC. "Pro Memoria" is a worthy successor to "He Is". If anything, the album needs at least one more really solid 4-5 minute track. I'm surprised the album turned out as well as it did given the legal issues Tobias Forge had with the Nameless Ghouls, and an album as excellent as Meliora is a tough act for any band to follow.
It's definitely away more "poppy" and accessible album. It's almost too different for me to enjoy at all. I like maybe 1 song, coming from someone who has seen them twice in concert. What's this...

I've yet to see them live, but I don't mind a bit of pop if it's good. Prequelle doesn't seem nearly as poppy as Indica's Shine, for example. :) Apparently the Ghouls weren't getting their cut of...

Life Eternal honestly reminded me of Boston. I'm disappointed.
Their latest album, Prequelle, is unfortunately not good :( I loved Meliora, but this, this I don't like.

I appreciate your comment and will listen to it again :D But be aware that tastes differ...
Of course. I'm just offering my reasoning for why you should give it another shot. If it doesn't do it for you, that's fine.
I tried, still don't like it :) I think it's too big of a change. I was listening to it and Infestissumam and Meliora started playing right after.
Oh well. More for me, then.

What's this legal issue you speak of?

Apparently the Ghouls weren't getting their cut of the profits.

Fine. More Swedish cheese for me.
It might not be Michael Jackson's Thriller, but it's still good clean fun.
I probably have a more libertine definition of "clean" than you. Between consenting adults it's all good.
Overthinking it much?
