        Is "Deadly Funk" a... real genre? Like, that people would actually recognize? If so, the right way to tag it would probably be as funk.deadly since that uses the tagging hierarchy for a subgenre...

          Certainly not :P Most of the things I tag as "genres" are fairly made up -- at most I'd tag this with funk.jazz (or jazz.funk)
