I think gothic country, and Jay Munly in particular, is something that could've been a lot bigger if it hit the right ears.
I like dark, dirty, nasty, and just horrifying music, but I feel like the angles on that taken in metal, industrial, no-wave, hip hop, and other kinds of music are either too tame or too cartoonish to really make me feel anything anymore. This kind of stuff hits me just like those did when I was younger, and I really appreciate it.
