Did you ever listen to an album so much that, even though you still love it, you can't play it anymore?

I listened to Crack the Skye by Mastodon on repeat for 3 months, about 10 years ago. To this day, I still think it's a great album, but have no interest in ever listening to it again. This isn't the only album I can say this about, either.

Did this ever happen to you? What album was it?

Yeah, for me it happens a lot with stuff that gets tons of radio airtime. For instance, I like Nirvana, but I can't really listen to Nevermind or In Utero cause I've just heard every song on them...

I’ve felt that about Nevermind for years, but I listened to it all the way through again about a month ago and it blew my mind all over.

Nevermind and In Utero in particular are nearly perfect albums, with every song being a 9 or a 10. But when push comes to shove, I've still heard Smells Like Teen Spirit hundreds of times at least, so if I'm putting on something to listen to, it's not high in the priorities.

The sad thing is that they only ever had three traditional albums, and Bleach was pretty meh in my opinion.

I'm normally pretty careful about preventing overplay/burnout but I came pretty close to this with OK Computer - luckily I stopped just in time :-)

I've done this as well. I think a lot of it is that there are a decent number of albums that just fit a specific mood/period in my life, but no longer do. I would say I've basically emotionally worn out albums. Lonerism by Tame Impala is one of these for me. I think it is a fantastic album and I highly recommend it to others, but I can't really listen to it anymore myself.

Tool - Lateralus I still love it, but I haven't been able to make it all the way through in years.
