I have listened to this probably a dozen times so far. It's incredible, but not just because of the music. A lot of people are saying, "It was just okay." This isn't meant to be pop music. It's early works of songs, and meant to be a demo tape of sorts.

The NY Times wrote, "It's a glimpse of a notoriously private artist doing their mysterious work." That's exactly what it is. It is a peek behind the curtain, and it leaves a lot of questions. 17 Days is an obvious stand out on the album, but I like the entire thing. The songs are done so intimately.

It also shows how brilliant Prince was. These songs are him and a Piano, but they are so crisp and lay out exactly what the song is meant to be. The fact he was able to take these and work them into what they became is beyond impressive. His vocals are incredible here.
