The quality of his lyrics was surprisingly high. I fully expected another pussy-eating fest. There's plenty of wayne-esque filler nonsense, and also some songs that I think might his most introspective and personal that I've heard from him.
Overall I think it's pretty good. Beat selection is great, flow and lyrics kept me interested. It feels like a weezy album but modern enough to not be stuck in 2008. Much better than I expected.
Nearly every album in the genre could benefit by staying in the 45 minute - 1 hour range, imo. I fell asleep about 2/3 through, but I could already tell that this is album would be immensely...

You're right in the quality of his lyrics, I was pretty impressed with some of the tunes. I had low expectations as well, but didn't expect to enjoy some of the tunes I heard nearly as much as I did. I can't rate it yet, but the album is worthy of interest.
