I would also highly recommend checking out @boredop's The Big Dig jazz show podcast, too. It's absolutely fantastic, although he hasn't put out a new one in a while. :(

I dunno... that could definitely be interesting too. I have to admit that I don't know much about the history of jazz other than the basics so a history episode would be pretty cool IMO.
