      Solz de pește, (fish scale) – A carp fish scale is rounded and kept in a glass of cold water until played. The musician holds it in his mouth between the lower teeth and lower lip. -Source

        Heh, couldn't find anything more clear. Guess the scale is kept firm as described, and made to vibrate against part of the upper lip. I suppose it's somewhat similar to how they play the tree leaf...

          Yeah, it's a bit of a shame there isn't more information on it. But it definitely sounds like the technique used is similar to a tree/grass leaf whistling, or even a more rudimentary Jew's harp....
