New album by progressive rock/metal band Elder, released yesterday. While it doesn’t rely on groovy heavy riffs like their earlier albums, it excels at developing atmosphere, and makes those riff-based parts hit harder when they do come around. Elder struck a very good balance of maintaining their sound, and developing it.
My favorite tracks right now are Omens and Embers, the latter I already really liked when it was released as a single about a month ago.
