I'm not really a fan of the grateful dead myself, but just wanted to thank you for linking to this anyways. I had no idea archive.org was now supporting a music service in partnership with others....

So I don't know if it's any official partnership, or just that they have a fairly robust API. In either case, Relisten is the Bee's Knees of streaming off archive.org IMO. Dan is a friend of mine,...

So I don't know if it's any official partnership, or just that they have a fairly robust API. In either case, Relisten is the Bee's Knees of streaming off archive.org IMO. Dan is a friend of mine, and I regularly tell him how much I love that site. He actually implemented his own custom gapless playback such that the transitions between songs (particularly important for the Dead where you see a lot of tracks ending w/ ">") that's technically very cool. I've literally been streaming off it on a flight before, and it worked beautifully even when I barely could access my ssh server! It's a lifesaver for me right now, since my foobar install got... foobar'd by some wine update (need to move to a new wineprefix, probably). Their iOS app is quite good as well.

Ah, in retrospect that makes a lot more sense considering the mention of "complying with archive.org policy" in the about page... Still pretty cool that archive.org allows this though! And I will...

I've been using archive for my Dead listenings for a long time but I have never before seen the page you linked. There goes my afternoon :)
