Aaron Frazer's falsetto funk/soul album dropped today from the Dead Oceans and Easy Eye Sound labels. Aaron sings/drums in the group Durand Jones and the Indications. The record was produced by Dan Auerbach of Black Keys fame. Spotify Link, YouTube single link.
Yesterday, Jan. 7th, I listened through the album THE PANDEMIC EXPERIENCE | LIVE GLOBAL BROADCAST by Tobe Nwigwe. It was given to me as a Christmas gift from a dear friend. Tobe's work, and this album compilation in particular, is unapologetically Black, endearing, and uplifting. I found it to be a comforting sort of listen juxtaposed against the desecration of the US Capitol on the 6th. It's a blend of soul/funk and indie rap.
