I love indie/alt rock, and more specifically the emo genre so much. What are some of your (you meaning the OP, or anyone else reading this) favorite emo bands?

This song really touches me. The lyrics start out intimate and elliptical, before becoming more direct and acutely, almost painfully self-confessional toward the end. The vocalist may be grating to some, but their tone seems to come from some place beyond gender - reminding me of The Pine in a good way -- and they're able to tap into a deep well of emotional energy. Today, I revisited it after about a year.

And I'll never be able to justify the ways that I lived my only life. I just want something to feel alright.
