The acclaimed post-black metal and blackgaze act goes no-Deaf-all-Heaven on this one, something much closer to dream pop and classic shoegaze than black metal. Both Sunbather and Ordinary Corrupt Human Love are some of my favorite releases ever for the way they breathe life and texture into black metal's oppressive atmosphere, but these guys have more than proven themselves as talented musicians, and I greatly look forward to hearing them experiment with softer ambient sounds like this.

Just because I felt like sharing: I don't think they've ever put out anything close to bad, but Glint and Vertigo are Deafheaven at their very best, in my opinion. If you like what they do, or like the idea of blackgaze but can't quite get into Deafheaven, you may enjoy Bosse-de-Nage or Ghost Bath.
