    This is a story about doxxing two people and apparently finding nothing of interest. They published the names anyway. That seems pretty questionable from a journalistic ethics perspective?

    (I didn't know about the Tonight Show episode though. I didn't realize the NFT hype had gotten so far?)

        I think it's in the public interest to know who these two guys are, but there's lots of things in public records that would be considered doxing if they were spread around. In many places if you own property, your full name and home address are part of the public record, and those being publicized is certainly considered doxxing.

          I think the difference is that doxxing is not always wrong. Is this doxxing? Maybe. But is it wrong? I say no, regardless of whether it is actually doxxing or not.

            I agree wholeheartedly that this was an appropriate time to talk about these people's real names My point was that your framing of "it's in the public record, and thus isn't doxxing" isn't really a great framework for talking about doxxing and the times and ways it's appropriate to spread information about people.
