There were definite concerns about the election process and a great deal of other concerns about general government corruption. I just doubt anything is likely to change for the average person.

It's really hard for me to have an opinion on these. On the one hand, military governments are universally bad. The military can't actually govern, they'll do what every military government does; kill and torture, impoverish the country.
On the other hand, most of these coups are happening in what already are corrupt dictatorships, where a family or man has been in power for half a century. They weren't actually governing well either.
So I dunno. Tragic that these are the options hundreds of millions of people are having to deal with.

I agree with you. Coup can mean a lot of different things and be more or less legitimate compared to existing systems of government,
