But one of my favourite tags happens to be offbeat! Taking its original inspiration from Sir Nils Olav III, this thread is looking for any far-fetched offbeat stories lurking in the newspapers. It may not deserve its own post, but it deserves a wider audience!

    Alicudi: Italian island offers goats up for adoption

    The local mayor of a remote Italian island overrun with wild goats is offering to give them away.

    The idea came to Riccardo Gullo after a census estimated their population to be six times the human population of 100.

    Applications to "adopt a goat" must be received by 10 April.

        It would save on mowing the lawn... I do wonder how easy it is to adopt wild goats though. The article said that one farmer was interested in the for his dairy farm and I just questioned how easy...

        I do wonder how easy it is to adopt wild goats though. The article said that one farmer was interested in the for his dairy farm and I just questioned how easy it is to milk goats that have never been handled by people. Unless he just wants some bucks for genetics?
