I haven't seen this on the news or shared widely among my friends, but it's important that people hear of empowering developments as well. For me, I live pretty far from the border. I can't drive to these concentration camps they're running. It feels like I have no power to really do anything. But reading about this, in conjunction with planned public protests for June 30, gives me some sense that there are meaningful ways to contribute. I am pretty sure there are offices for ICE and GEO Group that are local to me.

It would be wonderful if there could be some context, instead of just trying to rile up a violent mob to demand things of institutions.

As far as I know, ICE deals with immigration and border control, which seems like a very good thing to keep in check. We have borders for a reason, and to cross said borders there are certain rules in place. To fight to abolish such an institution, and with the OP saying they're running "concentration camps", seems like there's a lot of hate-spewing people just trying to force their way without any sense of how the real world works.

Not everything you disagree with is directly associated with the Nazis. Stop trying to portray it as such. Bring an actual argument.

Have you not heard - they're separating children from their parents when they cross the border to seek asylum (as they have been allowed to do for decades). They're putting the kids in concentration camps. Organizations from the UN to the Methodist Church Jeff Sessions belongs to have called for an end to the practice. Wikipedia has listed the 'detention centers' on it's page of concentration camps.

ICE are having to defend themselves from being called Nazis for doing things that the Nazis actually did - and they're using the same defense the Nazis did.

ICE has existed since 2003, it's not some integral part of the federal machinery like the CIA. It's another mistake from the last worst president.

There have been a number of these "news" posts to Tildes recently that are clearly just for political purposes from sources that are anything but objective ("itsgoingdown.org"?). If OP wants to post this link to ~misc or in a text post to ~talk I think that would be fine, but please don't use ~news to promote political agendas.

itsgoingdown.org is pretty open about where they're coming from, and they cover protests in a way that MSM would never dare to. Find me a good article on this Occupation from MSNBC, CNN, or NPR.

I hadn't even seen this was posted to ~news. But indeed, this is not "news", not even close to it. The link in question doesn't contain an article that pushes for discussion either, so I don't think it's valid for ~talk either. Which leaves ~misc, and even for that it's questionable, considering Tildes is meant for discussion, not echo-chambering some opinion.
