    The defense team is using an incredibly facile defense: "Oh, El Chapo couldn't possibly order this murder, he's so carefully watched!" completely ignoring that there's a whole drug cartel that would be happy to do the murders for him.

      To be fair, they are saying with the limited amount of outside world exposure he is being allowed it's "impossible", since he is only allowed to see his daughter a few hours a week and his lawyers, not that his cartel would not carry it out should they somehow get information on the witnesses locations. But yeah, it's still an incredibly weak argument and honestly makes me question the ethical integrity of his lawyers since statements like that, if believed and witnesses security measures were reduced, would more than likely result in them being killed.
