    While I'm happy for the Greens, this is a rather optimistic look at an election result that is generally bad news. CSU didn't lose their dominance to the Greens - their voter bases are polar opposites - they lost to AfD, the neo-nazis, which is very scary news. The Guardian article covers this more realistically I think.

      Thanks for providing some context. The AfD actually had the largest seat swing, from 0 to 22 seats as compared to the Green's 20 seat gain. The left leaning SPD also lost 20 seats so overall this...

      Thanks for providing some context. The AfD actually had the largest seat swing, from 0 to 22 seats as compared to the Green's 20 seat gain. The left leaning SPD also lost 20 seats so overall this is a pretty bad outcomes for liberals in Bavaria.
