The Independent (UK) sent a reporter to the scary caravan of refugees in Mexico. Did not find a single Middle Easterner.

Sigh. I do so miss the day when articles at least pretended to present both sides of an issue.

Sigh, the title of the article goes to great pains to include the Donald's name. I know the man is (fill in your own adjective here) I don't need to be reminded of it every other headline.

Oh, right. The "other side" is that Donald Trump is so desperately trying to exploit this trail of human misery for political gain.

That helps to contextualise the article: this isn't just any old caravan of migrants, it's the one that the President of the USA has been talking about so much lately.

In fact, one might say that this article is providing the other side that has been missing from so many previous articles about this situation.

I'll admit I haven't been following this story in a lot of depth, but all the articles I've come across have been about what President Trump said, and how other Americans have reacted to what Trump said, and what the political implications of this migrant caravan are in America. Most stories barely mention the migrants themselves, where they came from, and why they're migrating. This article addresses that oversight and shows us the other side that has been mostly missing from previous articles.

However, I remember years ago reading articles in the printed Newseek and US News and World Report that routinely would at least attempt to cover both sides.

What do you think was missing? Do you have a another article?
