I love this people-powered funding model and it's great to see it adopted by the Guardian. They've got a great newsletter called The Upside that shares good news and solutions to world problems which I prefer to the usual doom and gloom headlines of most news sites.

If people dont chip in a small amount for the quality media then we are all poorer for it. I don't like imagining a world without good and reputable news outlets and that's where we headed unless people get over the spoiled brat attitude of "gimme free content, and no, I'm not gonna disable my adblocker for your content".

I have to give The Guardian a good deal of credit for building a great mobile app. I've got an annual subscription and the app actually let me know when it was due for renewal.
