God, do I ever hate that bullshit. Brexit was undeniably largely driven by racially charged rhetoric and even the Leave talking points that weren't racially charged were mostly demonstrably false...

And I think the reason they haven’t changed is because what they hear is, “You’re stupid, you’re racist, you’ve been manipulated, your vote wasn’t valid” – and they feel insulted.

God, do I ever hate that bullshit. Brexit was undeniably largely driven by racially charged rhetoric and even the Leave talking points that weren't racially charged were mostly demonstrably false claims and outright fabrications. All the idiots who got hoodwinked by the Leave populists like Farage and Boris have absolutely no right to now try and turn it around to play the "insulted" victim when they get lumped in with the racists who they voted along with, even if they aren't ones themselves, and called out for being stupid enough to be so easily manipulated.

You made your incredibly uncomfortable bed, now you get to lie in it. You don't get to blame the people who tried to warn you it would be uncomfortable for your actions and use that as justification for doubling down on your stupidity. It's time to grow the fuck up and take some goddamn ownership over your own choices and admit you made a mistake!

p.s. sorry, I really needed to get that out of me... that Brexiters playing the victim crap has been bothering me for a long time now. :P

This is a surprisingly informative discussion between two people who went to law school, then had very different careers. They are both Labour supporters, but have very different views on Brexit...

This is a surprisingly informative discussion between two people who went to law school, then had very different careers. They are both Labour supporters, but have very different views on Brexit at this time. This discussion addresses something I have not understood for a while now: Why is Labour not asking for a second vote on Brexit as negotiated?
