I understand the concern regarding his gag order that is supposed to be enforced, but does the crosshairs implying a threat seem like a reach to anyone else? I don't know, seems to me like Stone just went on google images and she just happened to be at a conference sponsored by a company with a crosshair as their logo. Maybe I am being naive.

The idea that he went on google images is definitely naive, if not disingenuous.

I do agree that people (and the media) seem to be fixating far too much on the "crosshairs" aspect, but it's hardly a conference; it's from something labeled "Corruption Central". There's some more info here: https://lawandcrime.com/high-profile/random-photo-of-judge-that-was-posted-on-stones-instagram-can-easily-be-found-on-pro-russian-sites/

There are literally hundreds of images like that in some extremely conspiracy-theory-like sites/documents, check the bottom of this PDF (page 514 onwards), which has 391 people in images like that labeled as "Deep State Shadow Government".

That's really quite odd. The fact that these guys like to read news reinforcing their own viewpoints/opinions isn't really surprising though. Thanks for the information! Wanted to reverse search,...

And for further information, Stone has a history as the guy who mastered trolling before there was an Internet.

Stone has demonstrated a decades-long pattern of untruth, disinformation, malicious lies, incitement of hatred, and media manipulation. He made a career out of tactics like this. All of which makes it very unlikely the original Instagram post was a mistake or was done in ignorance. See also.

His attorneys have filed an apology with the court for this little incident.

Oh of course! I know about Roger Stone, the dude's quite an interesting character. I suggest his Netflix documentary for anyone even remotely interested in this dude. It's quite amazing how he's made a name for himself in Washington by essentially breaking all the "rules."

I know you're probably just trying to be objective but are amazing and interesting character really words you would use to describe him and his actions? And putting "rules" in quotation marks?...

I know you're probably just trying to be objective but are amazing and interesting character really words you would use to describe him and his actions? And putting "rules" in quotation marks? He's a disingenuous and horrible human being who cares about no-one but himself. Fuck him.

Stone and Manafort are immoral conartists who spent much of their lives in pursuit of one thing, getting rich, no matter the consequences.

Manafort's own daughter referred to their wealth as "blood money."

Neither of these men deserve an ounce of praise or respect.
