What really interested me in this wasn't so much the ruling (caution, 61 page pdf) but the dissenting opinion. I'm not very familiar with reading these, but the obvious calls for congress (or, perhaps, the next congress) to change the law surprised me. Thoughts?
I think it's pretty routine for the judicial branch to point to the legislative branch like that. Hell, sometimes the executive branch does it too. When Teddy Roosevelt was the NYC police chief he had the whole city riled up because he decided to enforce the long-ignored law not to sell alcohol on Sunday. His response: "Change the law."
