Former transit boss in New York and Toronto is going back to his roots in London. Byford was beloved in New York in a way that would be inconceivable for any other MTA official. Unfortunately Andrew Cuomo couldn't stand for one of his subordinates getting the spotlight and so he ran Byford out of town.
