My two concerns with NY dissolving the NRA are as follows:

    • The AG and others in the Cuomo administration have called the NRA a terrorist organization and stated it is a major impediment to gun control. While I’m not a fan of the NRA’s financial malfeasance, Wayne LaPierre, and their diving into general right-wing politics (rather than focusing on firearms issues), I’m still concerned that there is a political angle to these actions.

    • The 501(c)(3) component of the NRA still does good work with gun safety and training. If the NRA is dissolved, where will the assets go? Giffords, Everytown, and the like do not do similar work, and the only org approaching the national reach of the NRA’s training capabilities is USCCA.
