    *On April 26, 2018, at approximately 9:58 a.m., an explosion and subsequent fire occurred at Husky Energy’s Superior Refining Company LLC refinery in Superior, Wisconsin (“Husky Superior Refinery”) . . .

    As a result of the explosion and fire, 36 refinery and contract workers were injured and sought medical attention, including 11 people who suffered Occupational Safety and Health Administration (“OSHA”) recordable injuries.

    In addition, the chemical disaster caused approximately $550
    million in property damage. Husky Superior Refinery reported that it released 39,000 pounds of a flammable hydrocarbon vapor mixture during the event. *

      I agree. Their investigations seem thorough and their analysis is very even-handed. Crazy that they were almost shuttered in 2018/2019. Especially considering their budget is relatively small...

      I agree. Their investigations seem thorough and their analysis is very even-handed.

      Crazy that they were almost shuttered in 2018/2019. Especially considering their budget is relatively small ($11M/yr in 2018) given their broad mission (to investigate chemical incidents).

        I'm honestly grateful for every bit of regulatory machinery we still have left. There's so much good the federal government does that is just invisible to almost everyone.

    Chemical engineer here who enjoys their videos very much. My only complaint: they used a red-tailed hawk call for the eagle, instead of an actual eagle call.
