I'm not well-versed enough with the European implementations of independent testing to say whether or not they are better than the FDA.
However, I have absolutely 0 confidence that America's implementation of them would be anything more than handing a fox the keys of the henhouse. Much like mandatory arbitration, I don't see it turning out well for anybody other than the companies. Bet you a nickle that inside a decade, they'll be fast tracking their latest patents and declaring almost all older generics unsafe.
The fact that the FDA is issuing recalls is a good thing. Figuring out why they needed to do so many warrants figuring out why....but undermining the FDA's authority is not a good thing.
