In what sense is this not a problem we've created? This article is (unsurprisingly) biased toward the norm of animal cruelty.

In a sense, it's a solution to a problem humans have created.

In historical terms, only recently humankind was able to create a supply chain to fulfill our need for protein without slaughtering animals. I suppose that, in a sense, we are still a product of our past, and the restrictions the environment used to impose on us. Besides, I doubt very much that meat-eaters and producers get some kind of satisfaction from animal suffering itself. They just want the end result.

Ultimately, meat-eaters like me will be nothing more than footnotes in history. Cruel or not, I'm convinced that the meat industry is unsustainable in the long run.

This eerily mimics the story line one would see on Black Mirror. I'm not sure how I feel about this on an ethic and morality perspective.
